Tamika Dawson
physiotherapist, clinical exercise and Pilates instructor
Tamika loves helping people find a way to enjoy exercise and movement, especially those who think they will never like it! She wholeheartedly believes that Pilates and exercise can benefit anyone wanting to improve their strength, mobility and general wellbeing, no matter their age or fitness level. An interest in discovering how the body moves and works led her on the path to qualifying as a physiotherapist. She has had her own fair share of injuries when younger and commenced Pilates for rehab. This led to training in Pilates with APPI which she began in 2015. Tamika often uses Pilates and its principles in the treatment and management of her patients.
She has a soft spot for hip and leg injuries whether it be sporting injuries, pregnancy-related pain, age-related issues or general strength and function, and finds it extremely rewarding watching people get stronger and learning to trust their bodies to move in ways they may not have for a long time.
Away from work, Tamika loves spending time hiking, in the Pilates studio or outdoors reading a good book.
