Dr James Lautier

osteopath

James was drawn to osteopathy in his late teenage years as he was entering the elite class in his BMX racing. His injuries and niggles were starting to affect his training, so his dad took him to an osteopath who was able to get him back on track. James was fascinated with how the body worked and how the osteopath treated many areas of the body, not just the location of the pain. He also liked the combination of manual therapy and home exercises to rehabilitate the injuries.

James’ passion lies with helping people find the cause of their pain so they can get back to living life. He is a big advocate of using rehab exercises to compliment the treatment, with the goal of preventing re-injury and to keep the patient involved in their recovery. He has a special interest in working with athletes and the challenges their bodies face with the high physical demands of sport. He also loves treating lower back pain, shoulder injuries, neck pain, headaches, and muscle injuries.

Outside of work James loves riding bikes, watching live music, camping, and going on adventures with his partner Katelin and Kelpie Ruby. James has been involved with BMX racing since he was 12 years old, competing at a national and international level, including almost 10 years racing at an elite level. He has also been heavily involved as a BMX coach since he was 16, including taking on the role of the Victorian State Coach for a couple years.
